 Pursuing Construction-Related Education after High School

Are you headed into a construction-related college, grad school, or trade program? 
Don’t miss out — ESS Foundation scholarship applications are still open! 

Applicant is applying for/currently attending college, graduate school, or a skilled trade school (vocational or technical). Trade school students must be pursuing a program requiring one academic year or more for certification. An applicant could also be involved in a community and/or industry craft training program.Applicant is pursuing a career in the construction industry. Eligibility is not limited to students pursuing technical degrees. The foundation retains the right to determine if a major or program in which the student is enrolled meets this eligibility requirement.Applicant may be awarded only one scholarship annually.Applicants must complete an application furnished by The ESS Foundation, provide official high school or college transcripts, provide two letters of recommendation, complete an essay on their desire to work in the construction industry, and be willing to take part in a personal interview.

MO Society of Professional Engineers
The Jefferson City Chapter of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers is seeking scholarship applications from high school seniors interested in pursuing a degree in engineering. The scholarship to be awarded for 2026 may be up to $1,000.

Interested students should submit a scholarship application and copy of high school transcripts to Dr. David Heise via e-mail at heised@lincolnu.edu by February 28th.

Pascale's Pals/Wayne Richard Scholarship

Pascale's Pals is a non-profit in Columbia MO that supports the MU Children Hospital.
The Wayne Richards Scholarship Fund was established for students who have been treated at Women's and Children's Hospital in Columbia, MO for a sustained period of time in the hematology/oncology, pulmonology, endocrinology, neurology, or rheumatology divisions. The scholarship is for a graduating high school senior for their continuing education via college or trade school.

Capital Region Medical Foundation & CRMC Partners

This scholarship is designed to support students who demonstrate academic promise, dedication, and a desire to make a meaningful impact in their chosen field, with a focus on strengthening education, workforce development, and the future of healthcare in our region.

Complete this application to be considered for a scholarship from BOTH organizations (Capital Region Medical Foundation and CRMC Partners). The two organizations are separate entities and will give out scholarships independent of one another.

The Callaway Energy Center's Women in Nuclear (WIN) Chapter is excited to announce a $1000 scholarship opportunity for hIgh school seniors (academic year 25-26) who plan to persue post-secondary education in power-related fields.

James L and Nellie M Westlake 

Applicants to the James L. and Nellie M. Westlake Scholarship Program must:

  • Be a Missouri resident.
  • Be graduating senior at a Missouri High School with a GPA of 2.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
    OR
  • Have completed one or two full years at a Missouri Community College with sufficient credits to transfer to an accredited four-year college or university at the sophomore or junior level, respectively, with a GPA of 2.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year.

All students attending a participating Missouri College with an eligible SAT or ACT score will automatically have the Bright Flight Award deducted as other aid.

Home Builders Association

Home Builders Association of Central MO Scholarship Program

(2) Two Scholarships $2000 each awarded in May to two students who will be attending a two (2) or four (4) year college majoring in a construction related field the following Fall Semester – based on the following criteria:

  • Employees or Family of Businesses related to the Building Industry and/or Students interested in fields of study related to the industry will get scholarship preference.
  • Some basis of need
  •  Participation in Extra Curricular Activities – i.e. student organizations, jobs, Community involvement
  • Preference will be given to construction related field – i.e. Construction Management, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Excavating and other specific trades/and/or majors
  • Must meet close to one or more of the following:
  •  
  • Academic Average – meet academic standards
  • School Attendance – 90% attendance rate

These scholarships will be presented at the May HBA of Central MO monthly meeting by the President of the association. This is a one-time, non repeating scholarship award.

My Missouri Scholarship Promise program (MyMO)

  • Open to current 9th graders from low-income backgrounds
  • Students who complete annual benchmarks in high school are promised a $10,000 scholarship to attend any eligible Missouri institution

MyMO will assist Missouri students on their pathway to college starting their 9th grade year. 
Student must be Pell Eligible. To determine if student is Pell Eligible, student and family must fill out the Federal Student Aid Estimator. You will need information regarding your family's income and assets to complete the calculator.
***Please Note: As a 9th grader, you cannot yet complete the actual FAFSA. You must complete the FSA Estimator for the purposes of the MyMO application.

Hitachi Courage Award
Missouri Courage Scholarship (MCS) and our partner organizations award scholarships to graduating seniors from Missouri high schools pursuing higher education. Applications will be comprehensively evaluated on a variety of metrics including academic achievement, school involvement, community engagement, diversity, demonstrations of courage, and commitment to enhancing the lives of LGBTQ individuals and working toward social justice. Scholarships are paid directly to the accredited college/university/vocational school of their choice, where they must be enrolled as a full-time student. Applicants' information will only be shared with scholarship committee members of MCS and partner organizations. 

Eligibility:

  • Graduating high school seniors in Missouri
  • From counties: Audrain, Boone, Callaway, Cole, Cooper, Gasconade, Maries, Miller, Moniteau, Osage, Phelps, or surrounding areas
  • Pursuing higher education (college, university, or vocational school)
